The original books of the Bible were written in Hebrew (Old Testament) and Greek (New Testament). Parts of the book of Daniel and the Gospel of Matthew was originally written in Aramaic.
Many translations were made over the years. In the early days of Christianity, the Hebrew of the Old Testament is generally viewed in a Greek translation (the Septuagint). As the church spread, the need for translations has increased, taking the sacred text in largeAccepted languages and local languages. The Bible was soon translated into Latin (the language of the Roman Empire), Syriac (Eastern Aramaic language), Coptic (Egyptian) and Arabic. In 500 AD, an estimate of Scripture may be already present in over 500 languages.
